Gurdy Girl is Jane Ruckert.

While working mainly as a solo performer she also works as part of a number of duets at festivals in Australia and overseas. Mixed amid the lines of the Gurdy Girl's own compositions are elements of Gregorian chant, Hildegard von Bingen and even Pink Floyd.

Jane's first instrument is hurdy-gurdy closely followed by two scandanavian folk instruments, nyckelharpa and hardanger fiddle, and voice.
